| - Description:
Jarew is the shining star of the Wurm Dunes. Out of the burning sands of the desert, marvelous buildings of stone seem to rise out of no where. A large stone wall surrounds the entire city, standing an amazing thirty feet high and nearly twenty feet thick. The walls contain a surprisingly sophisticated city. The walls bear scars from many attempts at siege, burn marks and the tell tale signs of siege machines are too numerous to count.
A temple is rooted in the center of the city, it's towering peaks are easily seen from any street corner. The temple itself is nearly two city blocks long, as it houses the rulers of the city. The entrance to the temple reflects the mastery of the hands that built it many ages ago. Gently sloping archways give way to two massive doors with stand with the insignia of two crossed swords with a pair of praying hands between them. Stories of the beauty that lies within the temple itself seem so far fetched that many dismiss them as simply lies, until those individuals cross the temples threshold to see for themselves.
The city of Jarew has many of the things that make a large city great; a university, embassy's, many fine shops, multiple professions hard at work, a garrison of soldiers to aid in protection, and a few carefully watched guild halls. The leaders of the City of Jarew have only recently decided to allow a Warrior's Guild and a single Mage's Guild inside the walls. The guilds hold no real power, but serve as a site of training for those that wish to protect the city.
The city is ruled by the leaders of a group known as Priests. The group has been the protectors of the city for the last hundred years. Warriors by nature, the group took the city by force and have since that time protected against would be invaders. The Priests allow the citizens of Jarew to decide their own lives. Many within the Priest sect are craftsman, some are farmers, all have ways of earning a living on their own. They are well loved within the city walls, and many try to join their ranks but lack the faith required.
- History:
Jarew is the center of most of the world's religion. It is said to be the ground from which the gods' began life and walked among the first born. As such a holy site, it is the focus of many wars. The city can be traced back well over a thousand years, and since that time has been attacked over 400 times, captured 47 times, and destroyed twice. No matter how badly it's destruction, the oasis never seems to be harmed beyond repair. The last known incident tells of a great fire set by an a group of Orcs and Ogres. According to legend, the oasis regrew overnight.
- population:
Total Population: 18,734

- Organizations:
Priests - leaders of the City of Jarew. They worship multiple gods, but have the common goal of protecting the holy land for their gods in the name of what is good and holy. They seem to be blessed by their gods, for they wield power that few can understand and none can match. The group is made of paladins and clerics, and while they do not seek war; they constantly train for it.
Warrior's Guild - Ran by Jazare Ingram, a human male fighter who specializes in what he refers to as "crashing." To the untrained eye it seems as if the man simply dons spiked armor and charges headlong onto a fight, but to those that are trained in the martial disciplines... it seems totally insane. The Priests are happy to embrace him somewhat unconventional skills and gladly allow him to train whoever he deems worthy. Few who train under Jazare use his style, but all are battle hardened warriors by the time he is finished.
Mage Guild - A small group of approximately 30 arcane casters of varying races. They joined together with the intent of sharing arcane knowledge, which the Priests believed to be a good idea. They are allowed to practice there art without intrusion, as long as they are allies to the Priests in time of war. To date, the Mage guild has single-handedly defeated two brave groups of goblins and one very large desert wurm.
