Cass vs Detective

"Hello miss. My name is Detective Ingram, NOPD. I was wondering if I could speak to you for a moment. Nothing real serious, just a couple of questions. May I come in?" The detective looked like he was straight out of a Dick Tracy cartoon. Square jaw, clean shaven, black hair, a dead serious bass voice. Only thing really missing was the yellow trench coat... kind of disappointing really.

Cass sighed but opened the door. "Of course, Detective." She opened the door and stepped aside. She nervously looked at the bathroom. "Sorry for the mess. I felt safer away from the windows." That sounded logical to her, after all she had been witness to a murder. Multiple actually if she cared to think on that. "Excuse me while I let my friend know I'll be lat for dinner." She walked into the bathroom and snagged her phone. She typed out a quick text and went back into the other room. She ran her hands through her hair. "Please take a seat."

The detective sat down in a chair. He laughed a bit seeing your mess, "It's quite all right ma'am. May I ask how long you have been staying here?"

Cass sat on the bed opposite the detective. "I checked in early this morning. Probably around 5-ish."

"Where were you staying at previously ma'am?"

"I stayed one night at the old Bed and Breakfast owned by the Gregorys, and before that I was at the Marriot across town." She figured the questions were just routine after all she'd contacted them 2 nights ago when she'd found that note, or was that 3 nights ago...

"Officer Mitchell informed me that you had a cat in your hotel room. You know they don't allow cats don't you?" He smiled... not quite enough of a smile to know if he was joking or just being a jerk.

She smiled politely. "No actually I hadn't. Though unlucky for me the cat escaped before I could find it's owner. I'm just glad the scratched healed quickly." She really needed to find that cat and maybe have a bit of pay back.

"Can you fill me in on anything that happened while you were residing at the hotel?"

" I remember talking to the Officer. The stupid cat, and horrible dreams. The next day I got up and went to have breakfast. Only to have my bags packed for me. I met a French man who sat with me after my agent told me he loved all the publicity. The man was nice and gave me a reference to another agency. We walked around, he took me out to this old quaint church and we talked for a bit and I called around finding another place."

"Where did you eat breakfast at ma'am?

She paused to think back. "I never did, now that I think about it. I remember wanting to eat, but the call with my agent got me so worked up I never did."

"Okay, so you decided not to eat breakfast all of the sudden. It happens. I had a fantastic lunch today, wife is a good cook. I got married just a couple of years ago so her three meals still haven't gotten boring yet." He offers a slight chuckle, "Who was the man that you met while eating breakfast?"

She smiled sweetly as his talk of being recently married. It sounded sweet. She paused thinking back to her own quick wedded bliss before coming back to the present. "I think he gave his name as Seamus. I never got a last name."

"Okay, so this Seamus gentleman. Can you tell me of your interaction with him? What was he like, said, all that stuff."

She thought for a moment. "Well he gave me the name and number of an agency. It turned out that he's originally from Ireland, so we talked about home for awhile. And that was about it. He was really nice. And very handsome. He said he owns a club, but I never found out if it was here in town or elsewhere."

"When did you both part ways?"

"Late that night. Right before I checked in with the Gregorys."

"What did you all do together?"

" We talked mostly. He took me out to this old church. IT was really neat. And a few of his friends showed up and that was it."

"When did he take you to the church? Do you happen to recall the name of it?"

"It was around sunset. And no I don't actually." She really should have been paying more attention.

"Lemme make sure I understand you correctly. You met him for breakfast, spent the day with him, and he took you to a church at night?"

" That sounds about right, yes." She smiled, it sounded bizarre but she'd done stranger things as a kid.

"One last thing Ma'am. How long are you planning on staying here?"
